Project Description
This commissioned art was started during the 13th Annual Celebration of Life dinner for local cancer survivors through St. John’s Hospital, Memorial Medical Center, SIU School of Medicine, Springfield Clinic, and the National Cancer Society. The final concept is titled “The Path to Healing” and the image represents the healing energy and connection being absorbed into the person’s hand. The maze below this represents the convoluted path and journey that all cancer patients have to go through on their path to healing. Much like a maze, everyone has a different path to healing and sometimes you cannot see around the next corner but you have to keep on moving to find your way out. The artwork is being donated and auctioned off to raise funds for cancer awareness.
